Originally, back in the late 1990's, Cold Steel Odor was called Techknowledgy. Once it was discovered that name was already a corporation name, C.S.O. went for awhile unnamed. I was, at the time, working on another band project named Guild of Din. It wasn't until the G.O.D. project came to a close in 2002 that C.S.O. got the current name. Neuromancer is a book I had read in jail, and Cold Steel Odor sounded fitting for being a product of that environment.Although Techknowledgy was released in full in the year 2000, the original tracks had already been mostly written back in 1998, and even earlier tracks which were made pre-computer through cassette tape "dubbing" dated back as early as 1994 when I was 15 years old.
Tracks 7, 8 and 9 came from the Guild of Din collaborations. They were supposed to be released on an album entitled 'Alien' which was never finished. Guild of Din did complete their first album entitled 'Projectile 9Nine' which was released in the year 1999. The tribute song entitled 'Projectile9' was a tribute song meant as an epilogue and features some voice samples from the movie 'The Matrix'.
